A new report released by a Wall Street analyst on Tuesday labels Yahoo as an "attractive acquisition candidate" for many large technology or media companies including the possibility of Microsoft (once again). While I think Microsoft will need something like this to truly compete with Google I would be very sorry to loose Yahoo as an independent entity (and search engine) as I feel that there needs to be more than one or two big players to keep everyone on their toes and I do not feel that Ask is up to the job (yet). It will be interesting to watch this play out and may even create a opportunity for some of the smaller engines to grab a little market share.
